The MP-808 Universal Battery Charger is designed for rechargeable AA, AAA, and 9V batteries using Ni-MH or Ni-Cd chemistry. It can charge 2 or 4 AA/AAA cells or up to two rechargeable 9V batteries. Dual LED indicators provide a simple visual indication while the charger is connected and operating.
MP-808 Universal Battery Charger
The MP-808 Universal Battery Charger is a practical charging solution for commonly used rechargeable batteries. It supports AA, AAA, and rectangular 9V batteries based on Ni-MH or Ni-Cd chemistry. Therefore, it is suitable for rechargeable batteries used in toys, remote controls, multimeters, wireless microphones, electronic equipment, clocks, and educational projects.
The charger connects directly to an AC wall outlet without requiring a separate adapter. Its compact design makes it convenient for use at home, in electronics workshops, laboratories, offices, and schools.
Supported Rechargeable Batteries
The MP-808 Universal Battery Charger can charge either 2 or 4 rechargeable AA or AAA batteries. The cells should be installed in the correct charging positions and in matching pairs.
In addition, the charger includes two connections for rechargeable 9V batteries. Depending on the required setup, one or two compatible 9V Ni-MH or Ni-Cd batteries can be installed.
This charger is not suitable for disposable alkaline, zinc-carbon, or heavy-duty batteries. Furthermore, it must not be used with Li-ion batteries such as 18650, 14500, 16340, or Li-Po cells.

Charging Instructions
First, confirm that every battery is marked rechargeable and uses Ni-MH or Ni-Cd chemistry. Insert two or four AA/AAA cells into the correct slots while observing the positive and negative polarity markings.
For 9V batteries, connect each rechargeable battery securely to one of the snap terminals. After installing the batteries, connect the charger to a suitable AC wall outlet. The LED indicators illuminate to show that the charger is receiving power and charging.
Charging time depends on the battery capacity, remaining charge, battery condition, and charging current. Because the LEDs may indicate charging activity rather than complete-charge status, calculate or monitor the approximate charging period according to the rechargeable battery’s capacity.
Common Applications
The MP-808 charger can be used with rechargeable batteries installed in:
- Digital multimeters and test instruments
- Remote controls
- Electronic toys
- Portable radios
- Wireless microphones
- Educational electronics kits
- Low-power alarms
- Clocks and household equipment
- Photography accessories
- DIY and laboratory devices
Safety Instructions
Never attempt to charge disposable batteries. Charging alkaline, zinc-carbon, or heavy-duty cells may cause leakage, overheating, or rupture.
Always charge batteries of the same size, chemistry, capacity, and similar charge condition together. Do not mix old and new batteries or different brands in the same charging pair.
Install every battery with the correct polarity. Place the charger on a dry, ventilated, heat-resistant surface and do not cover it during operation. Finally, disconnect the charger after the appropriate charging period and remove the batteries if the charger will not be used.
