The UNO R4 WiFi Compatible Board combines a 48MHz Renesas RA4M1 32-bit microcontroller with an ESP32-S3 wireless module. It features Wi-Fi, Bluetooth LE, USB Type-C, a programmable 12×8 LED matrix, 5V logic, CAN support, DAC output, and the familiar UNO form factor. This is a compatible China version, not an original Arduino-manufactured board.
UNO R4 WiFi Compatible Board – China Version
The UNO R4 WiFi Board is an Arduino-compatible development platform based on the modern Renesas RA4M1 32-bit microcontroller. It combines the familiar UNO layout with increased processing power, larger memory, wireless connectivity, and several advanced peripherals.
This product is the compatible China-manufactured version. It is not an original Arduino-manufactured board. However, it follows the standard UNO R4 WiFi architecture and can be programmed using the Arduino IDE with the appropriate UNO R4 board package.
Renesas RA4M1 32-Bit Microcontroller
The main controller is the Renesas RA4M1, which uses a 48MHz Arm Cortex-M4 core with a floating-point unit. Compared with the 8-bit controller used by the classic UNO R3, this processor provides more speed and memory for advanced embedded applications.
The main controller offers 256KB of Flash memory, 32KB of SRAM, and 8KB of data memory. In addition, it includes a real-time clock, a 14-bit ADC, an operational amplifier, capacitive-touch support, and a 12-bit DAC output on pin A0.
Built-In Wi-Fi and Bluetooth
An onboard ESP32-S3 module provides 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Low Energy connectivity. Therefore, the board can be used in IoT systems, wireless monitoring devices, smart-home projects, connected sensors, and remote-control applications.
The ESP32-S3 works as the wireless communication module and also helps manage the USB connection between the computer and the RA4M1 controller.
Programmable 12×8 LED Matrix
The UNO R4 WiFi Board includes a built-in 12×8 red LED matrix. Users can display symbols, sensor values, simple animations, scrolling text, or small graphical patterns without connecting a separate display.
Furthermore, the onboard matrix makes the board useful for educational experiments and interactive projects directly after connecting the USB cable.
USB Type-C and Multiple Interfaces
The USB Type-C connector is used for programming, serial communication, and 5V power. The board also supports UART, SPI, I2C, CAN bus, and a Qwiic-compatible I2C connector.
An external CAN transceiver is required before connecting the CAN pins to a physical CAN network.
