Description

1–8S Li-Po Battery Voltage Tester

The 1–8S Li-Po Battery Voltage Tester is a compact battery checker for monitoring multi-cell lithium battery packs. It displays the total pack voltage and then cycles through the voltage of each connected cell.

The tester connects directly to the battery’s compatible balance connector. Therefore, it requires no external power supply or separate battery. Its bright LED display makes the readings easy to check during battery testing, maintenance, and RC applications.

In addition, the built-in dual buzzer provides a loud warning when a monitored cell falls below the selected alarm level.

Main Features

  • Supports battery packs from 1S to 8S
  • Displays total battery-pack voltage
  • Displays each individual cell voltage
  • Bright digital LED display
  • Dual audible buzzer alarm
  • Low-voltage alarm mode for compatible 2–8S packs
  • Adjustable alarm level from 2.7V to 3.8V per cell
  • Alarm adjustment in 0.1V steps
  • Alarm can be switched off
  • Compact and lightweight design
  • Powered directly from the battery
  • Connects through a compatible balance lead
  • Suitable for Li-Po, Li-ion, LiMn, and LiFe battery packs

Voltage Tester Specifications

The individual cell display range is approximately 0.5V to 4.5V. Meanwhile, the total pack display range reaches approximately 0.5V to 36V.

The tester cycles between the total voltage and the voltage of each detected cell. As a result, users can quickly identify an unbalanced, weak, or discharged cell within the battery pack.

Its stated voltage-detection precision is approximately ±0.01V. However, it should be used as a convenient field checker rather than a substitute for calibrated laboratory measuring equipment.

Adjustable Buzzer Alarm

The alarm threshold can be adjusted between 2.7V and 3.8V per cell. Press the onboard button to cycle through the available settings or disable the alarm.

When any monitored cell falls below the selected threshold, the buzzer sounds and the LED indication activates. Therefore, the user can stop operating the connected equipment before excessive battery discharge occurs.

Select the alarm value according to the battery chemistry, manufacturer’s instructions, operating load, and required safety margin.

Common Applications

The 1–8S Li-Po Battery Voltage Tester is suitable for RC cars, drones, aircraft, boats, robotics projects, portable electronic systems, and custom lithium battery packs.

It is also useful for checking a battery before charging, after charging, during maintenance, or before placing the pack into storage.

Important Usage Notes

Always verify the connector polarity before connecting the tester. Incorrect or offset connection may damage the tester or battery.

This device is only a voltage monitor and warning alarm. It does not charge, balance, protect, or disconnect the battery. Therefore, it cannot replace a suitable charger, balance charger, BMS, or protection circuit.

Do not leave the tester connected during long-term battery storage because it consumes a small amount of energy from the pack.
