2000W 220V SCR AC Voltage Regulator & Dimmer Module

This SCR voltage regulator uses phase-angle control to adjust the power delivered to a compatible AC load. The rotary knob provides simple manual control without additional control electronics.

Therefore, the module suits lighting, heating, and selected motor-control projects. However, it does not provide an isolated or perfectly regulated sine-wave output.

The maximum advertised power applies mainly to resistive loads under suitable wiring and cooling conditions.

Incompatible or Unsuitable Loads

How to Use

1. Disconnect the mains supply completely.
2. Mount the module inside an insulated enclosure.
3. Install a correctly rated fuse in the input circuit.
4. Connect the module in series with the live wire feeding the load.
5. Check all connections and cover every exposed terminal.
6. Set the control knob to its minimum position.
7. Reconnect the power and adjust the knob gradually.
8. Monitor the module and load temperatures during operation.

Important Operating Notes

• This module controls power by cutting part of each AC waveform.
• It does not produce a stable, isolated, or sinusoidal adjustable supply.
• A standard multimeter may not display the chopped output accurately.
• The actual usable power depends on the load, cooling, wiring, and SCR quality.
• Use a lower power limit with inductive or capacitive loads.
• Provide additional cooling during extended high-power operation.
• Do not rely on the SCR’s component rating as the module’s continuous-current rating.
• Test the module with the intended load before continuous operation.
