The Raspberry Pi 5 Camera Cable is a 300mm flexible adapter cable designed to connect standard 15-pin CSI camera modules to the smaller 22-pin camera connector found on Raspberry Pi 5.

One end of the cable features a mini 22-pin connector with a 0.5mm pitch. Meanwhile, the other end uses the standard 15-pin connector with a 1.0mm pitch found on many Raspberry Pi camera modules.

The 300mm length provides enough flexibility for installing the camera inside robotics projects, monitoring systems, custom enclosures, and computer-vision applications. Furthermore, its flat ribbon construction makes it easy to route through narrow spaces.

The Raspberry Pi 5 Camera Cable can connect Raspberry Pi 5 to compatible camera modules that use the standard 15-pin CSI connector, including:

Compatibility depends on the camera having the standard 15-pin, 1.0mm-pitch connector.

Raspberry Pi Compatibility

This cable is primarily designed for Raspberry Pi 5. It may also be used with Raspberry Pi Zero models that have a compatible mini 22-pin camera connector.

It is not required for Raspberry Pi 3 or Raspberry Pi 4 because those boards already use a full-size 15-pin camera connector. Those models require a standard 15-pin-to-15-pin camera ribbon cable instead.

Installation Instructions

First, shut down the Raspberry Pi and disconnect its power supply. Next, gently lift the locking tab on the selected MIPI connector.

Insert the 22-pin end of the cable straight into the Raspberry Pi connector. Then, close the locking tab without applying excessive force. Connect the 15-pin end to the camera module in the same way.

Check the contact orientation carefully before closing either connector. Incorrect installation may prevent the camera from working.

Important Usage Notes

This is a CSI camera cable. Do not use it as a Raspberry Pi display cable because camera and display cables may use different wiring arrangements.

Avoid sharp folds, twisting, or pulling the cable by its contacts. In addition, route it away from motors, power converters, and high-current wires whenever possible to reduce electrical interference.

Camera module and Raspberry Pi board are not included.
